Discovery Camp Week #1

Discovery Camp had a blast this week with their Carnival Crazies theme! Over the course of the week, campers got to create many of their own crafts in Arts and Enrichment with Ms. Carissa, such as hats, popcorn containers, and carnival masks. At the end of each day, all campers gathered together for a fun all-camp activity. This week, campers got to turn their counselors into clowns, watch as blindfolded counselors tried to put bananas in each others' mouths, and cheered their counselors on during an arm-wrestling contest. On Wednesday, campers went on an exciting trip to The Funplex, an amusement center, where they engaged in laser tag, played in a foam pit, rode in a simulator, played in the arcade, and more! The kids look forward to swimming each and every day at camp. On Monday, Pioneer camper Nathaniel learned how to swim. Everybody has a tough first time swimming, but he handled it well and was able to overcome his fear. Great job, Nathaniel! He and other Discovery campers have had a fantastic start to their summer here at the Y.
