Get to Know Our Counselors

Did you know some of our counselors were also campers at the Princeton YMCA when they were younger?  Or that our Specialty staff members were specifically trained for their positions? We took the time to interview some of them so that you can get to know who they are, why they're at the Y, and their favorite part about the job.  Stay updated for new interviews!

Meet Discovery Camp Counselor, Ms. Kalayah:

YMCA: How long have you been involved with summer camp? 

Abby: This is my 4th summer working as a camp counselor. 

Growing up, I spent 5 years going to summer camp.

YMCA:Why do you love working with kids? 
Abby: Because I get to play everyday and have fun with them.

YMCA:What do you do after summer? 
Abby:I will be a senior at WWP-South and I run track there!

YMCA:What are some of your hobbies? 
Abby:I love to eat, run, and read books

Meet MVP Camp Leader, Ms. Hannah:

YMCA: How long have you been involved with summer camp? 
Kevin: This is my 4th year with the YMCA Summer Camp.  I have also coached many basketball clinics at the Y.
 
YMCA: Why do you love working with kids?
Kevin: I love to watch kids set goals and accomplish them and see the joy on their faces.
 
YMCA: What do you do after summer?
Kevin:I am going to be a sophomore at the  University of Kentucky this fall.
 
YMCA: What are some of your hobbies?
Kevin: I love music, going to Broadway shows, singing, 

traveling, and of course posing for pictures!
