Discovery Camps are the heart and soul of the Princeton Family YMCA Day Camp program. Through fun and games, nature activities, sports, arts and crafts, plus age-appropriate special events, campers gain skills and grow in confidence and self assurance, while practicing the YMCA core values. Campers participate in a larger community, learning teamwork, honing social skills and making new friends. Because our sense of community is such an important aspect of the YMCA, Discovery Camps meet every morning, for "community." With this activity, they talk about their own lives and have the opportunity to get to know their fellow campers and their counselors on a deeper level. Every week, Discovery Camp activities follow a different theme; past themes have included Wild Wild West, Crazy Carnival, "Party in the USA," and Color Wars. While caring, honest, respect and responsibility, the YMCAs core values, are inherently part of all of its summer camps, Discovery Camp is all about using these values in a fun way relevant to each camper.
