MVP Week Six

The second half of this week has been packed with many fun new sports to play for Camp MVP. On Wednesday the camp played net games including basketball, soccer, volley ball and badminton. Camper Jessica, age 12 made a point to say that she liked playing badminton on Wednesday because she got to play with her friends and it wasn’t as competitive to win like Thursday’s.

On Thursday the campers had a whole different kind of fun while they spent the day orienteering. Orienteering requires navigational skills, like reading maps and compasses to navigate from point to point as fast as possible. This tested campers’ concentration and running ability. The objective is to follow the fastest route but the fastest route, is not always the shortest route! Camper Elijah said “Orienteering was a challenge but I had my friends to help me. We had to use the map and the compass to help us get to the next clue.” The campers went on an adventure to get to the end of the route.

Today the whole MVP gang is heading over to join Discovery Camp in an all camp BBQ where there will be lots to eat such as hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, fruit and drinks. Time to eat up! For next week, Camp MVP will be playing soccer, disc golf, basketball, tag games and then going on an exciting trip to an ice skating rink. Get ready to glide into next week!
