Week 5 Leadership

This week Leadership worked on their skits which they will perform next Thursday for the younger campers. The kids came up with dialogue and plots together, they got to pick what their characters’ names will be, and their all used all their time productively to assemble a skit that meet their standards. The skits they wrote are mainly about safety, and are teaching not only the younger campers, but the Leadership group as well. It is a good way for them to learn to be good role models. The kids are also learning about power, meaning using it in the appropriate manner. The group came up with seven types of “power” a leaders could have and the pros and cons of each. They also set up a scenario of a shipwreck, and the leader had the ultimate decision on what to save. Also, Leadership came up with some games for the Color Wars and they got to lead the games for the other teams on Friday. Camper Phil said “I liked working with the kids for color wars and I really like swimming with the kids also!” Leadership spent a lot of time writing skits, but just the same they spent a lot of time in the pool. It’s a great way to cool down after running around and having so much fun! Leadership also went cosmic bowling on Wednesday, along with MVP and Discovery. They spent the day entirely on rolling bowling balls down the alleys and even after several hours, campers were not ready to be done.
