Week 5 Discovery

This week for Color Wars, four colorful teams were made: Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue. Discovery got their competition on as they were split into these four teams and had a blast playing games throughout the week for points. By the end of the week, the Green team won with a total of 6109 points. Yellow came second with 5672, then Red with 5614, and finally Blue, with 5084. Discovery cooled off from their competition in the hot weather by swimming in the Y pool every day!
Besides what the camp did during the whole week, they did exciting things daily. On Monday, the campers put their sweet teeth to work with a delicious pie eating contest. Appetites were filled and campers delighted. On Wednesday, Discovery went Bowling along with MVP and Leadership. This was a long day of fun for the camps, as they rolled bowling balls down alleys in an attempt to hit down all the pins with a strike. Camper Barrett said “I was on the yellow team for color wars and I liked competing against the other teams. I also liked going on the bowling trip and throwing it down the aisle.” On Thursday, the camp had games of water balloon toss. Kids got wet and cooled from the sun, and played outside for hours. Friday, the hottest day of them all, did not get in the way with the group’s games. The camp still played the games planned for the day but later moved inside the gymnasium. Also the counselors did a shaving cream balloon sit outside. Then the camp watched the movie “Megamind” inside to rest up.
