A Look at Week 3

Week 2 Recap:
MVP Camp played Musical Pies
Kids enjoyed fresh watermelon!
Another fantastic week at the YMCA summer camps! Last Friday, Discovery and MVP camps came together for a fun and delicious barbeque to end Wild Wild West week. The kids had a great time, and as Ismail from MVP camp said, "It was the best day ever!" Thanks again to all the parents who helped make this possible with their donations. Later, the campers beat the heat with a run through a special fire hydrant fountain. Thanks to the Princeton Fire Department for providing this relief

Critter U Campers ask Museum Specialist a few questions

Critter U finished their week at Insectropolis and Bugseum of New Jersey. The kids jumped at the chance to touch tarantulas, scorpions, and millipedes. They even tasted sour cream and onion flavored crickets! "They may not have tasted so good," says counselor Matt, "but we can all say we've tried them." YUM.

Week 3 has come our way, and with a new theme: "Blast from the Past." Get excited for 50's Monday, 60's Tuesday, 70's Wednesday, and a totally rad 80's Thursday at the Roller Rink!

Camp Director Paul welcomes new campers on the first day of week 3
Discovery Camp, whether in Arts and Enrichment with Miss Carissa, or on the field with Cole, will  embrace the decades! On Monday campers entered our 50's styled diner to make their very own (paper) ice cream sundae.
Catch our blog updates to see what they're doing later this week!

Leadership Academy started this week with a discussion about teamwork. They shared personal experiences, and examples of when they have used teamwork, or where skills in this area would have been useful. Counselor Nick explained to the campers, "you'll be doing challenging activities where you all have to work together in order to finish the task." They will continue to develop team building skills throughout the week.

MVP Campers can look forward to some net-sports. They'll start Monday with Volleyball, enjoy some Goofy Games on Tuesday, Badminton on Thursday, and will challenge the counselors in an array of activities on Friday. Wednesday, campers head to Lakewood, NJ for a BlueClaws minor league baseball game.

Look for this week's sweepstakes image, a disco ball, hidden in one of the photos on our blog. Remember to follow our blog posts and PrincetonYMCAcamps on Twitter, and to "like" us on Facebook.
