Our theme for this week is "Color Wars!" The campers were placed in teams representing four colors - the Red Dragons, the Yellow Bumble Bats, the Blue Barracudas, and the Green Vipers. Each camper made his/her own handkerchief to represent their team. Throughout the week, there will be numerous team contests and teams can earn points for spirit, winning, and sportsmanship. Which team will win? We're just as excited as you to find out!
Discovery ended last week with an all camp barbeque. At the luau, MVP and Discovery counselors played Waterfall With a Twist! With
cups of flour and syrup on their heads, counselors sat in a line and attempted to
pour the contents of their cup into the cup in front of them. Coated with syrup and flour, counselors had a blast, while campers encouraged them with chants, "MVP!" and "Discovery!" This week, Discovery campers can look forward to bowling and laser tag on Friday, along with the color wars activities that are in store for this week.
Leadership Academy is revisiting the topic of team work along with passion and service. This week they delve into the issue, "why is passion a necessary characteristic of leaders?" On Tuesday they will again be assisting Princeton Presbyterian's Crisis Food Ministry's food pantry. Throughout the week the Leadership Academy campers will also participate in activities and discussions that expand on this week's topics. We welcome three new members to the YMCA Leadership Academy, and hope that they'll enjoy their time with us!
MVP ended Week 4 with a kickball game and an exciting All-Camp Activity. This week, MVP camp has an exciting schedule, complete with five new games, one of which is Mach-1. Campers will play this game, consisting of challenging and a dynamic obstacle course, on Tuesday. After playing handball on Wednesday and taking part in a "duathlon" on Thursday, MVP will be going on a roller-skating and miniature golf field trip on Friday.
