Discovery Friday Post
The last two days of Week Six were very fun and memorable. On Thursday the counselors became human sundaes and the campers watched as they were covered by ice cream, hot fudge, sprinkles, and other toppings! The counselors even rolled around in the chocolate to make sure no spot was left untouched. Then the campers watched as the counselors got hosed off by camp director Mr. Paul. The campers stood close to the counselors because every so often Mr. Paul would point the hose to the crowd so the campers could have fun too.
This week was filled with new special things to do. First came crazy hair day, then came the human sundae. On the last day of the week, the counselors were painted up as smurfs. Ms. Parker said “I am looking forward to painting up the counselors like smurfs. Every day we have been doing new things and I am really excited for this one, I can’t wait.”
On Friday, a gigantic BBQ was held where all the camps went to fill up on their favorite foods and treats. This is one of the most liked events of them all, since the campers and counselors love to eat. Every other Friday the camp has held a BBQ, yet it’s still super fun! The campers eat foods such as hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, fruit, and pasta. Then there are also the much desired treats and desserts such as chips, cookies, and brownies. Camper Natalie said “we made human hot fudge Sundaes, and today we went on the slip and slide, also the BBQ was great!” Thanks parents for bringing in such wonderful food!
There will be waves of fun next week! The theme for Week Seven is “Out At Sea”. The campers will definitely have a lot of fun making their own cardboard boats and seeing if they float. The Camp also plans to go to Point Pleasant beach on Wednesday where the kids can get their surf on!
